Sopley Lake wedding Photographer

On 4th May Charlie and Jazz enjoyed their New Forest wedding. I had the pleasure of joining them as their Sopley Lake wedding photographer. Not to be mistaken for Sopley Mill, this is a hidden gem located behind Sopley Farm’s pick your own field. Near Bransgore, Dorset and really is spectacular.

Jazz and Charlie live between Hong Kong and London so this was a distance booking. But the humour was there in the emails. When we eventually met in person it was evident we’d get on well.

This was a duel photographer wedding and my trusty wingman as always was Az of Lemontree photography.

This May, Sopley Lake Wedding, was sunny but with an easterly wind blowing it was pretty chilly as you can see in some of the photos below.

We started the day at an AirBnB in Christchurch with Jazz’s family. The ever amazing Fiona doing makeup and hair. A house full of character, nearly as my character as Jazz’s dad. Who earned the award for best Father of the Bride reaction, ever.

If you’ve read about me on this website you’ll know I shoot a mixture of candid, Documentary Photography. Which is becoming the primary focus these days with some beautiful portraiture too. Blessed with beautiful light at this Sopley lake wedding I made the most of the sun. Where else does a wedding venue have a hand powered ferry to as island in the middle of a lake! This wedding venue is something else, it really is.
